It has been a long and hard road for Maxie (Kirsten Storms) in her effort to be a mother to her daughter Georgie, and now, she will finally learn her fate on General Hospital.

Maxie and Nathan Recount Their Bad Date

The day of her custody hearing has arrived, and before it is through, she will learn if she is ever going to be allowed to have any partial custody of her daughter with Spinelli-but things will get off to a rough start for her.

"My lawyer's not coming," she says to Lulu (Emmee Rylan) in a preview clip for the Tuesday, Dec . 16 episode.

Nathan Sturggles To Survive The Shooting

Her lawyer's absence isn't something Maxie will take as a good sign in her case, especially since she is facing Judge Walters, who has made everything increasingly more difficult for her.

One of the ways Judge Walters has made things harder for her involved his ultimatum he gave her and Nathan (Ryan Paevy) about their budding romance. Following the two escaping from Levi's evil clutches at the Crichton-Clark clinic, they finally decided to go out on a date together-but the wonderful night was interrupted by the Judge's appearance, where he threatened Maxie that if he heard anything about her hanging around Nathan, he would ensure she never received custody of her daughter again.

As a result, the two have been fighting to stay away from one another, something that became increasingly more difficult after Nathan was shot during the plot to help Faison (Anders Hove) avoid prison. Now, he is in the hospital, and the woman he loves is being forced away from him.

"Maxie can't see me if she wants to see her daughter," he explains to his mother, Dr. Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) in the clip.

General Hospital airs Monday-Friday at 3 p.m. on ABC.
