Bieber posted the photo on Monday with the caption: "Had fun with the homey @Chrisbrownofficial."

His fans weren't afraid to share that the photo was not at all funny to them. Chris Brown, who was accused of abusing Rihanna in the past may not have been a wise friend to post this "joking" photo with.

One user said, "Wow. I can't believe this picture was posted after Chris Brown himself was an abuser ... I don't know about anyone else but it looks like they are making fun of violence. Smart move stupid."

The photo was also linked to his Twitter page where users continued the backlash. A lot are asking him to remove the photo all together.

The photo received over 38,000 retweets and over 42,000 favorites. It comes only a month after Brown opened up about his violent history with Rihanna, Gossip Cop reported.

During the interview, the performer said he feels "remorse" about the incident of abuse, but that he is sick of apologizing.

 "You can only say it but so many times, and I feel like through the years I've said it enough, to where it's like, 'Bro, if you're still on that, I feel sorry for y'all, because it's over with,'" said Brown, noting that he and Rihanna had "made amends."
