With actress Emma Roberts heading to the new Fox show Scream Queens next year, it looks like she probably won't be appearing in FX's American Horror Story.

Roberts joined the cast of Scream Queens recently, an anthology show written by Ryan Murphy, who also does American Horror Story. The series is reportedly slated to have a fall 2015 debut, suggesting that Roberts may be too busy to come back for the fifth season of American Horror Story.

The actress is currently playing Maggie the con artist on American Horror Story: Freak Show after a memorable turn as the witchy Madison Montgomery in AHS: Coven.

Roberts recently spoke with Vulture about Scream Queens and how it actually relates to Coven.

"The show itself is more comedy," Roberts revealed. "I literally was crying laughing when Ryan [Murphy] was telling me about it, and telling me some jokes on it."

She said that the series will be female-centric and as such, it is reminiscent of the very female-heavy Coven.

"It going to be a lot of girls, and it reminds me of Coven in a way that it is just like having all that female energy on set."

She added that she loves working with Murphy on multiple projects now.

"I pretty much will follow Ryan Murphy anywhere, because I just love the worlds he creates. When he told me about this, I was like, 'When do we start?'"

It remains to be seen if Roberts will find the time to film anything for the fifth season of American Horror Story, but actors and actresses have had to sit out of seasons due to other commitments, such as Taissa Farmiga this season.

American Horror Story: Freak Show airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on FX.
