He and his family have a large following of fans on social media with the success of their TLC reality show Sister Wives, but it doesn't stop Kody Brown from still receiving occasional hate as well.

Kody & Robyn Get An Unexpected Offer On The New Season Of 'Sister Wives'

The patriarch of the Brown family-which consists of himself, his four wives, and their combined 17 kids-was the target of a hater on his Twitter account Dec. 14 after he commented on a post by Olympian Jake Herbert.

Herbert tweeted about a collection of vintage wrestling magazines after the passing of a friend which resulted in a comment by Brown telling him what he could do with them. However, things went sour when someone else joined in on the conversation, referring to Brown as a "idiot."

"So many 1980-1990 vintage wrestling magazines cleaning out tys house. Sad to toss them any I should keep?" Herbert wrote.

"Hell yes! Keep them all. Puulease! EBay or auction. Sign it all with other Olympians and raise $$$ for Ty's fam or wrestling," Brown responded.

The hater then responded to Brown's tweet by calling him an idiot, something that caused Brown to apologize to Herbert because he was dragged into the issue as well.

"Hey Jake, sorry to bring you into my drama. Olympians don't deserve haters. Do you guys get haters?" Brown asked.

"There's not enough time to spend with all the people I do like. So I don't waste my time with Haters," Herbert answered.

Though neither man appeared too bothered by the hate, it isn't the first time Brown or his family have encountered difficulties and nasty comments because of their public polygamist lifestyle. Meri, Kody's first wife, even took to Twitter in November after someone confronted her about her decision to remain in a polygamous marriage, saying she was exhibiting an immoral way of life.

The family was also forced to flee their original homes in Utah after going public with their lifestyle, after potentially facing persecution.

Sister Wives season 5 picks up with new episodes on Sunday, Jan. 4 at 10 p.m. on TLC.
