Actress Lily Rabe made her triumphant return to FX's American Horror Story during Wednesday night's episode of Freak Show and now the actress is revealing if she will return for season 5 next year.

Rabe guest-starred on the latest episode of American Horror Story: Freak Show, playing Sister Mary Eunice, the character she portrayed in AHS: Asylum. The actress has been busy filming ABC's upcoming show The Whispers, which explains her absence of a starring role in AHS this season, but she may be back for season 5 in 2015.

"As I've always said, being a part of American Horror Story and working for [co-creator] Ryan [Murphy] is something I hope to be lucky enough to continue for the rest of my life," Rabe told Entertainment Weekly in a new report. "It's one of the great, great joys that I have. So absolutely, I hope for all those things to be possible."

The actress returned as Sister Mary Eunice during Wednesday night's episode to escort Pepper (Naomi Grossman) to the Briarcliff asylum featured in the second season. She said that it was nice getting "back in the habit" on set, so to speak.

With the character eventually becoming possessed by the devil and incinerated, Sister Mary Eunice certainly didn't have a particularly happy ending in Asylum, so it was nice for Rabe to play the character as an innocent again.

"I loved that it was the pre-possession, that original Mary Eunice Pre-Jude, even," Rabe said. "She doesn't even know Jude yet. That whole relationship, of course, is probably the most formative relationship of her life, and that hasn't even happened. So she's this clean slate. Because Jude isn't there yet. She's trying her hand at trying to have a little bit of authority, and she's not the best at it. But she's trying and I respect her for that."

American Horror Story: Freak Show returns for its final three episodes starting Wednesday, Jan. 7 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on FX.
