Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Trevorrow, said he was cautious of wanting to make the movie a different experience from the others in the franchise, and the new hybrid dinosaur is a part of that major change.

"There are dinosaurs and there's the other-there's this thing that is not one of them, that is not of them," he said. "There's a lot of bold new ideas in the movie and I'm pushing it as far forward as I can. I know Steven didn't want me to make a carbon copy of the earlier films. So we're going for it."

Previously, Trevorrow revealed a new still from Jurassic World featuring Chris Pratt as Owen and a raptor via his Twitter account on December 18.

"Happy Holidays from the editing room. Do not try this at home," he captioned the picture.

In the image, Pratt is looking buff and strong, posing by menacing looking raptor. In the trailer Pratt's character was also seen racing on a motorcycle with the raptor. Owen is said to be a behavioral trainer, and has an understanding of raptors in the movie, in essence he knows how to get along with the beasts.
