Federal officials have responded to claims that the home of Teresa and Joe GIudice of Bravo's The Real Housewives of New Jersey was raided and Christmas presents and cash was seized.

A member of Teresa's legal team James J. Leonard set the record straight and said there is no truth to speculation of the raid, posted on NJ.com on Thursday.

"I can tell you with absolute certainty there was no raid and there was no assets seized. Santa Claus coming down the chimney is more believable than the raid story."

Teresa recently hired Leonard, who said the rumor is "a completely fabrication" and noted that Teresa is certainly "complying 100 percent" with the U.S. Attorney's Office to pay off her restitution.

Matt Reilly of the U.S. Attorney' Office also confirmed that the raid did not happen as Teresa and her husband are still cooperating with federal authorities.

"Anyone went over there under official capacity, it would be under us."

Both Reilly and Leonard's comments are response to reports that federal agents raided the Giudice residence in Montville, NJ for failure to pay $214, 588,90 that they owe after pleaded guilty to mortgage fraud. Word was that they took the family's Christmas presents, jewelry, plasma televisions and even cash that was allegedly hidden away. The supposed raid occurred Monday and included county police officers, two probation officers and even two interns.

Rumors of the raid comes just weeks before Teresa turns herself in to begin her 15 month federal prison sentence January 5. Joe will begin his when she is finished. Given that he is actually a citizen of Italy, he could be deported when he completes his three year sentence.

The couple pleaded guilty to several fraud charges earlier this year. They were sentenced on October 2.
