With head judge Len Goodman having announced that he is resigning as a judge on Dancing With the Stars after season 20 this spring, there are new rumors that state Tonioli might also be leaving. Tonioli is allegedly threatening to leave if he isn't promoted to head judge after Goodman resigns, according to GLOBE Magazine via Celebrity Dirty Laundry.

These rumors state that former pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy might not only become a judge but also become the head judge.

"Top brass have made it clear that they want someone with the same feisty attitude as Len - and Maks fits the bill perfectly. Now, after the snub Bruno is thinking it's time he called it quits too." a source reportedly told GLOBE. "Maks is a real hot head and craves being the center of attention. He's convinced he is going to be the star of the show - and he doesn't care who he hurts!"

There is no official report to either confirm or deny these rumors, though they should be taken with a grain of salt.

For now the series will go on as usual with Goodman, Tonioli, Carrie Ann Inaba and Julianne Hough as judges, though it remains to be seen what will happen after season 20.

Dancing With the Stars returns for its landmark 20th season on ABC in March, though the network has not yet scheduled a specific air date.
