A family member of rapper Kanye West has spoken out and confirmed that he controls his reality star and wife Kim Kardashian as the couple faces divorce rumors.

West's step-brother Hal Carmichael said not long ago that West keeps an eye on Kardashian because he is concerned about her and their daughter North West's safety and feels it is his duty to "protect" her.

"Kanye constantly worries bout Kim and North because he knows the kidnap risk is high."

"Because of the lifestyle they lead, he has to think about it carefully nowadays. Kanye controls Kim, like where she travels and what she does, to protect her. He thinks the more the public see of them, the more at risk they are."

He also only allows a handful of his loved ones to watch after the one-year-old child.

In other Kardashian and Kanye family news, the trio was spotted together out and about in New York City Sunday. Kanye held North in his arms as they walked through the city. He rocked a camouflage jacket with a black shirt, black jeans and gold chain. North matched him with a green coat, little black leggings and brown boots.

Kardashian kept her look sleek and chick and rocked an all black outfit. The wardrobe choice consisted of a black sheer top that exposed her bra, black sunglasses and black pants and a long black coat. She added tan boots to complete her look.
