Keith Urban may be known now for his feathery golden locks, but in high school the country star sported a drastically different look.

Recently Taste Of Country looked back at Urban's sense of style back when he was a teenager in the 1980s. With bangs spiked straight up over an inch high and a mullet growing out in the back, the singer posed for a yearbook photo with a gap-toothed grin and black button-down shirt.

Nearly two decades later, Urban has changed quite a bit. After school he moved to Nashville, lost some of the hair product, and fixed up his teeth. He also traded in the flashy clothes for a more low-key look that seems to fit the Somewhere In My Car singer's laid-back disposition. He became a country music sensation, married actress Nicole Kidman, and started a family.

One thing that hasn't changed though is Urban's passion for country music. In a recent interview with Public Domain TV (featured below), the artist talked about how country music is what he "grew up on at home."

"When I was little I wanted to come to Nashville…" he explained. "My parents record collection was predominantly country music and on so on the back of the records it would say 'recorded Nashville, Tennessee' and as a kid I was like, 'that's where I'm gonna go. I don't know when, I don't know how, but one day I'm gonna live there'."

Urban continues to live in Nashville with his wife and their two daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret.
