A former criminal and gang member, Cage a.k.a Power Man, will become entwined with Jones (Krysten Ritter) as she operates her new detective agency in the Netflix series.

"Mike embodies the strength, edge and depth of Luke Cage," said executive producer/showrunner Melissa Rosenberg, according to Marvel. "We're excited to have him bring this iconic Marvel character to life."

Cage won't be confined to A.K.A. Jessica Jones, however. Colter's character will later headline his own eponymous Netflix series while also finding his way into Marvel's Daredevil series, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Colter's previous credits include The Good Wife, Halo: Nightfall, and The Following.

The second of Marvel's Netflix releases, A.K.A. Jessica Jones will see the titular character momentarily lay down her powers. Suffering from PTSD, the heroine will instead open a detective agency that caters to her super-powered brethren.
