With Christmas fast approaching this week, many are scrambling to pick up last minute gifts for family, friends, and that special someone.

Apple Deals For The Holidays

For shoppers in a bind finding that perfect gift, there are some fast and affordable options that won't have you worrying whether or not the package will arrive on time for Dec. 25.

On Tuesday Today took a look at some of the best holiday gift ideas for shoppers struggling over the next forty eight hours.

Online Christmas Shopping Deals

First up is of course the Amazon Kindle. While most folks already have one these days, the discounted price of $59 makes it a solid option if you're looking to buy for someone who has yet to update their tech toys. Amazon also has a solid track record for two-day shipping, though shoppers will have to pay an additional charge if they are not Prime members.

Slippers are always a safe choice and this year Today recommends the American Eagle Puffer Slipper for just $19.99. While the slippers are available online, they are easy enough to pick up in store. This would save consumers money on added shipping fees, plus it would eliminate the stress of worrying whether or not the gift would arrive on time.

Similarly, the Banana Republic Lariat and Ear Jackets are also available in stores. While a little pricier than the slippers and going as a high as $45, they come across as a little more upscale and give the impression of being more expensive than they actually are.

For shoppers willing to run out to PetSmart or Barnes and Noble this week there are a few options for under $30.

Parents can pick up some pet fish for their kids at PetSmart, which costs only about $5. If you're wary of going for live gifts, then Barnes and Noble has the simple and elegant Buddha Board in two different sizes as $10.95 and $29.95. This little painting board is a great general gift for anyone who likes to kill some time creatively, but not too specific as to only interest a limited audience.

Shopping in-store this close to Christmas guarantees that you'll have your presents under the tree by Thursday, but if that perfect gift is only available online there is still time to sprint for more immediate shipping to ensure it arrives in time.
