While Mother Monster was in Romania for an Aug.16 performance, a frenzied fan hurled at her for an autograph while exiting the hotel. (Take some preventive measures and watch the incident unfold on video.)
The singer's bodyguard fielded the overly excited fan and instantly, he was brought to the floor. The zealous fan was subsequently escourted out of the hotel.
Gaga addressed an adoring crowd by waving and saying hello. She did, however, flinch back when she saw a man lunge at her with a pad and pen.
That same day, she tweeted: "SO EXCITED to be in Romania performing at a an outdoor stadium tonight! Thank you so much for all the love from downstairs, I could hear u!"
Just today, she wrote a tweet, which included, "I love my fans."
Mother Monster can't seem to get out of the headlines lately. On Wednesday, she sparked attention Wednesday for entering Romania's Bucharest's Athenee Palace Hilton Hotel Wednesday with bright orange hair. To highlight her new 'do, Gaga paired orange hair with a gold embellished dress, sky-high platform heels and sparkly tights.
Aside from orange hair and bodyguard mishaps, Gaga has recently been criticized by the organization People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals and its celebrity supporters for her supposed hypocrisy and wavering stance on fur.
On a 2009 episode of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," Gaga said, "I hate fur and I don't wear fur."
In PETA's open letter to Gaga, the singer was compared to "the mindless Kim Kardashian" for wearing fur coats.
Ke$ha dualed it out with her fellow chart-topping peer by writing: "As a fellow artist, I would like to express my distaste, and quite bluntly, my disgust, at the fact that you, someone who is in the spotlight at a near constant basis, would endorse and display this type of clothing."
Earlier "The Good Wife" actor Alan Cumming tweeted at PETA with, "I'm so disappointed to learn @ladygaga wears fur! Guess she doesn't love all little monsters."
But Gaga has not stayed silent. On Wednesday, she responded with her own open-letter to the organization, its supporters and her fans.
She wrote that though she believes in helping shape society for the better, PETA is not an organization she stands by. "I do not however support violent, abusive, and childish campaigns for ANY CAUSE. Particularly one that I respect. 'Animal Rights.'"
She is vocal about defending herself, but she will not comment if the coats in question are made of real or faux fur. "I am choosing not to comment on whether or not the furs I purchase are faux fur-pile or real because I would think it hypocritical not to acknowledge the python, ostrich, cow hide, leather, lamb, alligator, 'kermit' and not to mention meat, that I have already worn. This should already put me in a category as one who appreciates and adores the beauty of animals in fashion, but am not a strict vegan."
The Mother Monster also admitted that her morals are not rigid when it comes to fur coats. "You see a carcass, I see a museum pièce de résistance," she said.
Nearing the end of her open letter, she wrote, "I respect your views, please respect mine."
Gaga hits her haters below the belt when she referred to the PETA activists who flour-bombed Kim Kardashian earlier this year at a red carpet event. She concluded with, "Save your flour to make bread for the children who are hungry. And Kim Kardashian is fabulous."
