Playboy standout Jenny McCarthy has split from Chicago Bears star player Brian Urlacher on Thursday, Aug. 16, and is now back on the dating market.

According to Yahoo, the 39-year-old confirmed the breakup with the football player in the following statement:

"Brian and I have decided to turn our romance into an amazing friendship. I will continue to be the biggest cheerleader for him. Go, Bears!"

The former celebrity couple were been first spotted together in April when they went out for dinner in Beverly Hills. McCarthy had attempted to stay silent on their blossoming romance only to reveal later on in the month that she was "giddy about someone," according to the site.

However, while appearing on Chelsea Handler's late night E! program, the Chicago native decided to come clean about Urlacher.

"It's going really good," she confessed, to which Handler bluntly replied, "That's very exciting. I'm happy for you. You were dating some real f-king losers."

Prior to her romance with Urlacher, McCarthy dated comedy actor Jim Carey for five years before breaking it off in 2010 for his apparent mood swings. It was a deeply painful time for her as her autistic son Evan had been very close to the star.

McCarthy opened up in June about Carey's departure from the 10-year-old's life on Howard Stern.

"I've tried to ask [Carrey] numerous times [to see Evan], because my son still asks about him on a 'weekly' basis. As a mother, you just hope when you have a relationship with someone, it has nothing to do with the child when you break up," McCarthy said.

McCarthy is currently the host of NBC's "Love in the Wild," which recently wrapped its second season in July. She also posed for Playboy in their July/August 2012 double issue.
