An insider told Life & Style magazine Tuesday, "Teresa has become so desperate, she's now considering giving her kids to friends!"

Teresa apparently believes that Joe taking care of the four girls will be too much for him considering his driver's license is currently suspended and he is attempting to overcome an issue with drinking.

On top of that, Teresa's former crisis manager Wendy Feldman has confirmed before that Teresa is considered the "sole caregiver" of the family, with Joe only stepping in briefly to assist.

"Teresa's friends know he's useless and have offered to take the kids. The trouble is, no one can handle four extra girls for that long."

The family only has a few weeks to decide as Teresa is scheduled to begin her prison stint on Jan. 5. She and Joe both pleaded guilty to several counts of fraud and conspiracy earlier this year. Joe was sentenced to three and a half years and will begin his term once Teresa is finished. It is also possible he will be deported back to Italy once he is released.

A separate insider confirmed with Us Weekly that Teresa is "panicking" about what will happen when she goes to prison.

"She's worried about her parents dying, her husband cheating and leaving her girls."
