Glee released a new video on their YouTube account simply titled "The Final Season," in which various cast members explain what it's been like to be a part of this experience.

"I'm so proud of the work that we've done here over these six seasons," Lea Michele (who plays Rachel) admits. "I couldn't be more proud to have been a part of the show."

She later adds that she feels like she's "trying to do as good of a job now as I did Day 1. But definitely with a little bit more of like an 'umph' to it."

Jane Lynch (Sue Sylvester) observes that knowing that the show will end after these last 13 episodes "makes you appreciate knowing that you only have a certain amount of time."

Meanwhile Chord Overstreet (Sam) has been grappling with many different emotions now that the show is ending.

"I am happy because it's such a huge accomplishment for this show," he says. "I am sad because it's the last season and I've had the time of my life and it's been a blast." Darren Criss (Blaine) adds that it's going to be "bittersweet" to say goodbye soon. Dot-Marie Jones says that she can't believe it's been six years.

Amber Riley (Mercedes) notes that many Glee viewers have grown up watching the show, with young tweens growing into adulthood. She says the show will have a "proper sendoff" for them.

It is clear that saying goodbye to Glee will be hard for almost all of the cast members, even those not included in the video.

Glee returns for its sixth and final season on Friday, Jan. 9 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Fox. The premiere will be a two-hour event.
