Netflix's Orange Is the New Black has been receiving some award recognition over the past few months, but some of the show's actresses may deserve more than what they've been getting.

'Orange Is the New Black' Star Uzo Aduba Singled Out For Acting At SAG Awards, Cast Nominated

Taylor Schilling (who plays Piper) and Uzo Aduba (Suzanne "Crazy Eyes") have gotten the most recognition, with Aduba receiving individual Golden Globe and SAG Award nominations (in addition to her Emmy win in August) while Schilling was nominated for a Golden Globe.

With a cast as expansive as Orange Is the New Black's, it is a wonder that more actresses in the ensemble are not recognized. Schilling, Aduba, Kate Mulgrew (Red), Laverne Cox (Sophia) and Natasha Lyonne (Nicky) were all nominated for Emmys for season 1 in August, though it remains to be seen how many will be nominated for season 2 in 2015.

Yael Stone (Morello) certainly had a memorable episode in season 2 and may be worthy of a Best Guest Actress nomination. Lorraine Toussaint (Vee) also had a big season with her character becoming the biggest villain. However, the dramatic nature of her character might make it difficult for her to win (or even be nominated) since Orange Is the New Black submits in the Comedy Series categories.

Samira Wiley (Poussey) also had an interesting season 2, with her character's unrequited feelings for Taystee (Danielle Brooks).

As always, Mulgrew's Red was also a standout and could give her some Emmy recognition, in addition to Schilling and Aduba.

The Emmy nominations will be announced next summer.

Orange Is the New Black season 3 is expected to be released in mid-2015 on Netflix.
