"The Real World Hollywood" and "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew" reality star Joey Kovar, 29, was found dead in his friend's Chicago home on Friday morning.
Friends and family claim drugs are to blame, reported TMZ. Kovar's rep said he was discovered by a female friend who noticed blood coming out of his ears and nose, according to TMZ.
After the woman discovered his body early in the morning, she called 911 and authorities came to the scene and announced Kovar dead.
The Chicago resident left the 20th season of Real World (2008) halfway through, to enter rehab for alcohol and drug abuse. When he left, he said, "I don't mean to be that guy... I've been dealing with it a couple years now... I come here [on the show and] boom, here comes the monster, again," reported WetPaint.
However, sobriety was more difficult to sustain than Kovar anticipated. In 2009, he received help for his cocaine and ecstacy addiction by checking into "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew" Season 3. At the time, Kovar was about to become a new dad. "I thought having kids would be what cleaned me up," he said in a Vh1 interview, "but that's not the case."
After the season ended and he was released from rehab, he admitted to relapsing, saying his cocaine addiction worsened. According to Vh1, during his relapse, Kovar said he only slept for three or four nights within the span of one to two months.
