Shakira Pregnant with Boy: Singer Calls Baby 'Ulicito' According to Colombian Report

Shakira may be expecting a boy to whom she and her boyfriend Gerard Pique call "Ulicito," according to Colombian magazine "Gente."

The name "Ulicito" is the diminutive of "Ulises."

The magazine claims it learned about the sex of the boy by getting access to an ultrasound scan performed around August 1st at a Miami clinic. In addition, the magazine published photos of Shakira and Pique visiting a clinic.

"There is 80 percent chance that the baby is a boy," the magazine says on its latest issue, which is due in news stands August 18. The magazine cites doctor Victor H. Gonzalez-Quintero, claiming that he his Shakira's doctor.

"Gente" also informs that Shakira will deliver the baby through C-section.

The magazine, along with other Mexican tabloids, have also reported that Shakira is pregnant but that she is keeping the news to herself because she is suffering from a rare illness that increases the risk of miscarriage.

The celebrity site TV Notas reported that Shakira has Toxoplasmosis, an infection caused by eating raw or undercooked meat or carelessly handling the litter of contaminated cats.

So far, Shakira has not confirmed or denied the pregnancy rumors and her representatives have no comments about the issue.

According to reports, her baby is due in early 2013.

"Shakira is really happy and as any other modern mom she has not allowed the pregnancy to affect her daily life," the magazine says.
