They had a brief taste of being in first place during their stint on season 25 of The Amazing Race, but being eliminated during the final leg was definitely not how professional Wrestlers Brooke Adams and Robbie Strauss planned on ending their run.

Amy and Maya Say 'Anything Is Possible' After Unlikely 'Amazing Race' Win

The dating couple placed fourth overall in the race, after being eliminated by host Phil Keoghan at the final leg's first roadblock in Los Angeles-something that broke their hearts when they realized it was happening.

"...That was the absolute worst-when we saw Phil, my heart just hit my stomach," Adams told TV Guide in a post-race interview. "I just wanted it to be a bad dream."

The pair also opened up about the eventual winners-food scientists Amy and Maya-and their very open and honest reaction to not being happy that they weren't eliminated before the final leg.

"It was hard. If it had been any other season, Rob and I would've been standing on the mat or first, second or third," Adams said. "It sucks to make it that far and not actually get to the end...But I was very pissed seeing them there! At that moment, I felt sick, like something was going to happen and it did."

Strauss also added that in addition to seeing that the food scientists had not been eliminated, they were forced to deal with the fact that despite getting a first place finish on the penultimate leg, they were not given a prize like other teams received all season, because they were told the leg was continuing with no break.

"Not only did we have to keep racing and that there were four teams, but we didn't even get a prize for coming in first," he said, before later adding on about seeing Amy and Maya, "No, no, We got nothing. And then at the airport, when Maya and Amy walked in, they tapped us on the shoulder, like, 'Hey, buddy!' They were playing it up too and rubbing it in our faces."

"We were exhausted. It was like 150 degrees out there," Adams added. "Rob was carrying 500 pounds of crap. We finally think we're going to get a break. No break. No prize. Then it's the same d-n four teams for the third straight leg. It was such an annoying situation at that point."
