The Mentalist Agent Lisbon may soon have Patrick Jane reconsidering his plans to leaven the FBI.

In "Black Market," the faux psychic dropped a hint that he might be ready to put his crime fighting days behind him. Not nearly as ready to put her career aside, Lisbon (Robin Tunney) will reopen the conversation during "The Silver Briefcase."

"For the record, I enjoy what we do," Lisbon lightly tells Jane (Simon Baker) in a sneak peek. "It's not going to be as easy to walk away as you think. You enjoy the mental stimulation far more than you let on."

Jane, for his part, is still intent on convincing Lisbon that a departure from the FBI will be worth her while, promising Paris and, oddly enough, steel peddle guitar.

"The world is infinite in its possibilities," Jane teases.

The Dec. 28 episode, directed by Baker, will see Jane take on a powerful opponent. A chance meeting with a Colonel will cause Jane to take an interest in his deceased wife. Unfortunately, the soldier might be too well protected.
