Rumor currently has it that Nick Cannon was planning to say nasty things about his ex Mariah Carey with new music, but the TV personality has cleared up those reports.

Mariah Carey & Nick Cannon Reportedly Spent Thanksgiving Together, What Happened That Night?

Earlier this week, TMZ reported that producer Mally Mall was working on an album with Cannon where he apparently claimed that there would be some controversy, according to Wet Paint. This led to some chatter that Cannon was going to diss the singer and put her in a bad light.

But as it turns out, Cannon made it clear that he would never do such a thing. On Monday, he took to Twitter to say something that ought to put these rumors to rest.

"I will never say anything negative about @MariahCarey We are forever a family and rooted in love," he wrote.

He then followed up with another tweet that reads, "I am always an open book but Personal matters are just that 'Personal.' So please respect my family and respect the process."

Even though the America's Got Talent pointed out that he and the pop star are still a family, there was a report from E! News that said he and Carey didn't spend Christmas together.

"The original plan has been for the whole family to spend Christmas together as a family," a source told the site. "However, Mariah has now asked Nick not to come."
