On Monday, The Sun reported that 37-year-old producer believes that actor Idris Elba should play the first black James Bond 007 role.

During an interview with the publication West said, "Artists should be visionaries. A black James Bond would be visionary no doubt. Something that 30 years ago would have seemed crazy should now be something that is a real possibility."

The iconic rapper said that he knows a little bit about the actor and he assured the magazine that no one is more qualified than he is for this coveted 007 role.

"I know Idris a little bit and he is a big talent," West said. "The movies he has been making are special, and when the role for James Bond comes up it needs to be his."

West also added his belief that "artists are visionaries" and having an African American actor star in this iconic film would be "visionary no doubt."

While West does admit that this role was meant for a British actor, he believes that Elba can't be topped.

"Something that 30 years ago would have seemed crazy should now be something that is a real possibility."

Some might hope Elba does get the coveted role of the spy because if he doesn't, the outspoken rapper won't have a problem letting the other contended know that Elba is the best actor 'of all time.'
