Yet again, Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes have been rumored to be headed for a split, but news about the couple's relationship may just be pure speculation.

Reports surfaced last week that the couple was on the verge of a split just before the holidays because they have spent little time together recently, but according to E! News, the reports are now being dismissed as ridiculous because the couple is very much together and still very happy in their romance.

"They think the tabloid reports about trouble are ridiculous and they just roll their eyes, they honestly don't care," a source told the website, before adding that they had a wonderful first Christmas together with their 3-month-old daughter Esmeralda, and both of their families.

The source also added that the rumors all started because Mendes never made visits with their daughter to see Gosling while he filmed The Nice Guys across the country in Atlanta-but that was because of something the actor himself reportedly orchestrated to ensure that their baby wouldn't be thrust into the spotlight.

"Ryan and Eva are super-super-private. The last thing they'd do is bring a baby, who's barely 3 months old, to a film set teeming with paparazzi," the source explained. "Ryan specifically wanted it like this-with paps following him in Atlanta, they're mostly leaving Eva and the baby alone."

And in the meantime, Mendes kept texting pictures and video of herself and Esmeralda to her boyfriend, which he absolutely loved, the source added.
