Amber Portwood is struggling to sleep after the tragic loss of her father.

In mid-December, the Teen Mom's father, Shawn Portwood Sr., lost his life in a Florida hospital, where he was being treated for issues related to his liver. In the weeks since his death, Portwood has been grieving.

"Sleepless night...so tired but so much on my mind however hope everyone is sound asleep...love," Portwood wrote to her fans on Twitter on Tuesday.

After Portwood's father was admitted into the hospital earlier this month for liver surgery, Portwood, who resides in Indiana, drove to Florida to be with her father. However, after just a few days, the reality star came down with an illness and was forced to return home.

In response to the passing, Portwood's brother shared his thoughts on Twitter.

"My sister, @AmberLPortwood and I are truly devastated by the loss of our father but his death will not be in vain," Shawn Jr. said. "from his life and what eventually lead to his death. He was ill and his lifestyle attributed to that illness. He suffered and was in pain constantly. He was far too young to die and left us before we were ready."

For the last few months, Portwood, along with her pregnant co-stars Catelynn Lowell and Maci Bookout, has been filming season 5 of Teen Mom. The upcoming installment will air sometime in 2015.
