Just hours before he was photographed naked in his Las Vegas V.I.P. suite, Prince Harry was racing Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte in the hotel pool.

Lochte discussed the meeting with Matt Lauer on the "Today" show Thursday, saying that he's "kinda happy" Harry didn't ask him to continue the party in the prince's room.

"I don't need that," he said of Harry's scandalous nude photos published by TMZ.

The Olympian said he first met Prince Harry after someone from his entourage came over to Lochte's table.

"We were at the same pool party and his people came over to my table and said, 'Prince Harry wants to meet you,'" Lochte said.  "And I was like, 'Okay, let's go meet him.'"

Then the prince challenged Lochte to a little friendly competition in the pool.

"[Harry] was like, 'Do you want to do something?'" Lochte told Lauer. "He said, 'Do you want to race me in the pool?' And I just took off my shirt and jumped in and we just started racing."

Not surprisingly, the Olympian took the victory as the two men swam through a pool of bikini-clad women.

After the race, Lochte and Harry parted ways. The prince then headed up to his hotel room, where he played "strip pool" with women he met at a bar - which resulted in the already-notorious nude photos.

Though he was glad he wasn't a part of the naked shenanigans, Lochte said meeting the prince was a great experience.

"He's really a nice guy, really talkative. He just wanted to meet me and wanted to race me, and I thought that was the coolest thing," the swimmer said.
