Shakira Pregnant Confirmed by Person From Most Intimate Circle: Pregnancy of 17 Weeks, Toxoplasmosis, But Not a Boy?

Shakira's pregnancy reports may gain more credibility with the latest testimony. A person that belongs to "Shakira's most intimate circle" confirmed to the HuffPost Voces on August 15 that Shakira is four months pregnant.

The source added that Shakira and her partner Gerard Pique are very happy with the news.

The Huffpost Voces' claims it spoke with "one of the people who belongs to Shakira's most intimate circle and that confirmed the pregnancy news to us."

Their source explained that Shakira was diagnosed with Toxiplasmosis which can be why she is keeping the pregnancy news from the media.

"Shakira has an illness more common than people think it is. It's called Toxoplasma and therefore she has to be more careful for herself and the fetus," the source told the site.

But the source also said that Shakira doesn't know the sex of the baby, contrary to reports that claim she calls her baby "Ulicito."

"Until now they haven't been able to see the sex. The fetus is still very small, we have to wait like four more weeks. But the type of illness she has requires periodic exams that could reveal the sex of the baby earlier," the source explained.

Rumors surrounding Shakira's pregnancy have been out for many years, but they took off in June when Colombia's popular magazine Gente featured a cover story titled "Shakira Pregnant", reporting that her baby is due in early 2013.

The magazine also reported that she is expecting a boy to whom she and her boyfriend Pique call "Ulicito," the diminutive of "Ulises."

The magazine claimed it learned about the sex of the boy by getting access to an ultrasound scan performed around August 1st at a Miami clinic.

As evidence, the magazine published photos of Shakira and Pique visiting an ob-gyn clinic.

"There is 80 percent chance that the baby is a boy," the magazine said on its August 18 issue citing her doctor Victor H. Gonzalez-Quintero.

The Huffpost Voces also identifies Gonzalez-Quintero as Shakira's doctor, who is reportedly a reknown doctor in the country to treat high risk pregnancies.

Shakira and Pique have yet to confirm the reports.
