Tyler Baltierra Tells Fans He's 'Lucky' After Giving 'Teen Mom' Catelynn Lowell A New Engagement Ring

On Twitter, days after the Jan. 1 birth of his daughter Nova Reign, Baltierra faced criticism from critics online, who felt he and his Teen Mom fiancee shouldn't have had their own child after the adoption of their first daughter, Carly.

"So sick of the ignorance in the world. Just because you place a child for adoption doesn't mean your not allowed to have another #GetReal," Baltierra tweeted on Jan. 3.

In 2009, while filming for the first season of MTV's 16 & Pregnant, Lowell and Baltierra welcomed a daughter together. However, because of their lack of financial security and their tension-filled households, the pair chose adoption. Five years later, they announced they were ready for their own child.

"I would’ve felt guilty if I got pregnant again when Carly was 1 or 2. But we’ve both been yearning for this," Lowell told In Touch Weekly earlier this year.

On Saturday, prior to his Twitter feud, Baltierra revealed he and Lowell were taking daughter Nova home from the hospital.

"Having her here feels unreal but actually taking her home feels even more unreal. I actually get to be happy about leaving the hospital," he wrote, adding, "Crying happy tears instead of sad ones feels AMAZING! I don't have to be heartbroken this time #EmotionalDaddy #DontMindMe."
