Hannibal's Bryan Fuller is still courting David Tennant for a season 3 role.

The former Time Lord is currently busy with ITV's Broadchurch (see video below), but, despite his packed schedule, Tennant is equally as interested in joining the psychological thriller.

"It's a conversation that's been had a couple of times," Tennant recently told Digital Spy. "I would love to work with Brian on anything - I think he's a rare talent- so it would be lovely if something worked out. But there's no immediate plans."

If the Scotsman's diary were to clear up, he would most likely not take on any of Thomas Harris' preexisting characters. Instead, Fuller (Pushing Daisies, Wonderfalls) is prepared to create a persona just for Tennant.

"With him it's basically, 'Do you want to do the show?' Okay, in that case let's write something fantastic for you specifically,'" Fuller previously told Digital Spy, later telling Metro that he "would love to have David on the show. Or just write for David! I would kill and eat somebody to work with David!"

Production for Hannibal season 3 recently made a brief stop in Florence and will continue filming in Toronto. Find out more when Hannibal returns to NBC in 2015.
