Naomi Grossman, who plays Pepper on FX's American Horror Story, admitted that she probably won't be back again on the series, though she may have let it slip what season 5 might be about.

'American Horror Story' Star Naomi Grossman Wins Award, Talks Pepper's Popularity & Breaking Rules

Grossman's arc as Pepper concluded in the latest episode of American Horror Story: Freak Show with the fan favorite character being locked away in the Briarcliff asylum by her horrible sister. This bridges the gap between Freak Show and Asylum, the show's second season, in which she later becomes lucid and deals with aliens.

The actress recently spoke with toofab about Pepper and said that this would probably be the end for the character.

"We didn't see her die [in Asylum] and there's all this gossip next season with aliens and she has a relationship there," Grossman said. "[But] I doubt it. I think fans are going to feel really satisfied with her story. I don't think they left a ton of doors open. I think Pepper fans can be at peace with the story she's been given and not push it. But shoot, I'd play her forever and ever."

While she may not have necessarily confirmed that season 5 will be about aliens, it does suggest that even she doesn't quite know what's ahead from Ryan Murphy and company. Grossman admitted that she would like to return.

"If given the opportunity, I'd accept it," she said. "A character with hair, my own face, can you imagine? That would be thrilling."

While the actress would welcome the opportunity to come back for season 5, fans have become so attached to her as Pepper that it would be hard to top.

American Horror Story: Freak Show returns Wednesday at 10 p.m. ET/PT on FX.
