FOX has not confirmed whether or not they are officially cancelling new drama series Red Band Society, but the show's apparent elimination from People's Choice Award contenders may be confirming the news fans didn't want to hear.

Is The Cast Of 'Red Band Society' Moving On With New Projects?

The show, which was initially a contender for the Awards show's Favorite New TV Drama, is no longer on the ballot for fans to vote for it-in addition to several other shows which were cancelled or have less-than-favorable fates, including Gracepoint and Stalker, as well as comedies Selfie, A to Z, and Bad Judge.

Since the shows disappeared from the ballot, several fans of all of them have taken to social media to protest the fact that their votes for these programs appear to have been discounted in the process.

'Red Band Society' Director Shares A Heartfelt Goodbyes With Fans

Fans appear to be taking the show's elimination from the awards category as a bad sign for the show's fate as well, though the scandal they believe is going on in an effort to keep a show that has an unknown fate from winning an award may not be what they believe.

In the blog post initially listing the shows as being some of the contenders for People's Choice Awards, it is clearly stated that the finalists for the awards would be determined after voting for them ended on Dec. 4-meaning Red Band and others may not have made the final cut.

Fans can still campaign to save Red Band Society however by using #saveredbandsociety, or by signing a petition on change.org.

The People's Choice Awards air Wednesday, Jan. 7 at 9 p.m. on CBS.
