The highly anticipated series premiere of Fox's new series Empire has aired and its safe to say that there is already one moment viewers could not get enough of.

Taraji P. Henson Slams 50 Cent On Twitter After He Disses New 'Empire' Series 'I Pay Attention To Dollars'

The show tells the story of a hip hop music mogul, Lucious Lyon (played by Terrence Howard), who has been diagnosed with a fatal disease. He is now training up his three sons to continue the success of the "empire" he has built in preparation for his death. At the same time, the company is going public, which is a big deal for the family and business. Interestingly enough, Lucious' ex-wife Cookie (played by Taraji P. Henson) has just been released from jail after serving 17 years for a crime and Lucious were guilty of. After seeing the success of the family business during the time she was gone, she has demanded half.

But it is clear her sons and Lucious have moved on without her as one of her sons goes as far as calling her a "b----."

That's when Cookie grabs a nearby broom and hits him with it. While this could have been a bad move for the show, fans reacted via Twitter and showed that they were all for the mom discipling her son with the object.

"Cookie don't play! Fierce with it! Loved it! #cantwaituntilthenextepisode #Empire #LuciousLyongetreadyhunti"

"Watched Empire last night! Loved it especially Cookie! She beat the brakes off that boy u gone respect my pimpin! Lol"

"Cookie on #EMPIRE is the worst type of woman lol".

"Cookie gonna knock you out!!! That part was funny on #empire!"

"That's what happens when you disrespect Cookie. She broke the broom!"

"cookie + broomstick=...#empire".

Being Mary Jane actress Gabrielle Union even tweeted that she agreed with Cookie's actions.

"Wait...did Cookie beat that child with the broom though?!?!?! #Respect #Empire goodness gracias (yes gracias) me (clutches pearls)".
