Netflix has just announced some pretty cool news for Marco Polo fans. Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos announced that the historic epic series will be returning.

According to Deadline, creator John Fusco's tale of Marco Polo's journey has been renewed for 10 brand new episodes.

On Thursday, Coming Soon reported that the new second season would capture the epic journey as Marco navigates Kublai Khan's world of greed, betrayal, sexual intrigue and rivalry.

The site also reported that Fusco would serve as the executive producer along side producer Dan Minahan.

Academy Award nominated directors Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg (Kon Tiki) will also be joining the crew for the new season.

This Netflix original series first made its small screen debut in December of last year, and fans are already eager for more.

Netflix has yet to announce when the new season of Marco Polo will be released and available for streaming, but fans can expect to see the show on the site in the near future.

The television-streaming site also announced premiere dates for new shows like Daredevil, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Bloodline and many others.
