Kim Kardashian opened up and responded to criticism about her fame in a new interview with V magazine. Top fashion lensman Nick Knight photographed the "reality sensation, Twitter phenomenon and all round girl-of-the-moment," which the magazine described her as, for a stunning set of black-and-white portraits.

Kardashian tweeted the link to the interview and photo gallery of images shot by Knight on Monday, Aug. 27.

"I loved working with Nick Knight for this V shoot and feature and wanted to share it with you," she wrote to her followers.

In the interview, the "Keeping up with the Kardashians" star responded to the criticism she received from celebrities in Hollywood regarding her rise to fame.

"It's always funny to me when people say that I'm famous for being famous," she told V magazine. "I think it's fascinating, because it's still entertainment, you know? It's fun to see the progression of that idea."

The 31-year-old explained, "I'm not naïve to the fact that I'm not a singer or an actress or anything like that. I've never claimed to be anything that I'm not. I think [reality] is still a new form of entertainment that was kind of an unexpected thing."

When asked if she thinks she will ever get the respect of a television actress, Kardashian said, "I think there was a quote where somebody said that reality stars will never get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. So, of course I'm so competitive that I think that it would be a huge achievement and a goal that anyone would want. I would love to break that mold."

The reality star also gave her boyfriend, rapper Kanye West, credit for her style evolution.

"Obviously having a stylish boyfriend who has helped introduce me to things and opened up my vision has been an inspiration and has helped me change it up a little bit and become more sophisticated," she said. "Being with him, designing and doing things, that's been motivating to me and has taught me a lot. I'm just thankful."

Kardashian tweeted the picture and article from V a day after the most recent episode of "KeepIng Up With The Kardashians" featuring West making her clean out her closet full of clothes and shoes in exchange for a new wardrobe purchased by him.

As Kardashian rifled through clothes and had a hard time trying to decide what to get rid of, West said, "But babe, you really gotta clean out everything."

"What about this joint right here?" he says referring to a designer purse. "Oh, hell no!" she added.

After Kardashian appeared upset about the clean-up process of creating donation piles filled with items she still treasures, West's personal stylist, Renelou Padora, entered the 31-year-old's home with clothing racks of new items.

West screamed "Look how dope this s--t is!" while going through the new clothes that arrived. "I like that top, it's like 'Yo, I'm getting on best dressed lists now. I'm stepping all into this territory,' " the 35-year-old added when his girlfriend tried on a new top.

"I think it's so ironic that I'm always giving my friends their closet makeovers," says Kardashian at the end of the preview trailer. "So for the roles to be reversed, it's like, Oh my God."
