The Bachelorette stars Andi Dorfman and Josh Murray didn't have the fairy-tale ending they were hoping for. After getting engaged last May, the reality couple has called it quits.

"After several months of being engaged and working on our relationship, we have decided that it's best for both of us to go our separate ways," the couple said in a joint statement. "We are very sad that it has come to this point, but this is what's best for both of us individually."

Dorfman, 27, and Murray, 30, added: "We will continue to be good friends and have nothing but great things to say about each other and wish each other the best."

Dorfman - a former district attorney who was also a contestant on season 18 of The Bachelor - chose Murray during the July finale, leaving Nick Viall heartbroken. Murray, a former pro baseball player, then proposed to Dorman with an emotional declaration.

"Andi you are the answer to all of my prayers you are the answer to my dreams you are the woman I thought never existed in this world. All my worries they just seem to vanish when I'm with you," he said.

Dorfman expressed a similar sentiment in a blog post for People.com after the finale.

"I came on this journey looking for great love, and I left finding the greatest love all," she wrote."You are my best friend, the love of my life, my soulmate, and I love you more than I ever thought I could love somebody. I have never felt happier and more complete in my life, and it's just the beginning!"

In the months that followed, the couple showcased their love via social media with tons of happy photos. Murray even shared a photo with the brunette on Jan. 5 as they headed to the Bachelor premiere.
