It's no secret that Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert are big fans of Meghan Trainor.

Both country stars have noted their fondness for the young singer's hit All About That Bass, but as it turns out Lambert was a fan of the song before she'd even met Trainor.

Recently CMT revealed that the Somethin' Bad singer first found out about the single through a completely different kind of "trainer".

How Blake Shelton Is 'Drinking' His Way To The Top

"Miranda Lambert heard the song before Meghan [Trainor] even had a record deal because my sister in-law is married to Miranda's personal trainer," Kevin Kadish, who'd written the song with Trainor, explained to CMT. "Miranda heard the song over a year agho and then when it came to the CMA's, she was like, 'Oh. Let's do that song.' So it's kind of full circle."

Lambert was a huge fan of the song from the very beginning and when it was released she made a habit of playing it regularly for her crew.

In 2014 Lambert and Trainor teamed up to perform the sassy single during the Nov. 5  CMA Awards,  much to the delight of fans, friends, and even Lambert's own husband.

"That's a fun one," he said of the single to People back in September. "I literally can't relate to it, but it's just crazy fun."

Lambert recently spent a quiet Christmas with Shelton. She will begin her 2015 Certified Platinum Tour on Jan. 15.
