First introduced in season 5's "The Frozen Lake," Jemadar Thapa (Ernie Reyes Jr.) will cross paths with the Office of Special Projects once more in episode 16 (filming as episode 614).

"Prep begins on E614. 1st 4 veteran [Terence Nightingall] on #NCISLA," executive producer John Peter Kousakis announced on Wednesday. "Written by [Dave Kalstein] Starring our master Ghurka [Erin Reyes Jr.]. #staytuned."

Kalstein, who created Thapa for last year's episode, will partner with fight choreographer Rafael Kayanan to infuse "Expiration Date" with his go-to fighting style - sayoc.

"E614 Sayoc master [Rafael Kayanan] has created another sensational action sequence for us all! #staytuned #NCISLA #wontdisappoint," Kousakis tweeted.

In the meantime, NCIS: LA will return from a brief brake on Jan. 19 with "In the Line of Duty." After U.S. Ambassador Nancy Kelly (Julie Chen) in Tunisia, Callen (Chris O'Donnell) and Sam (LL Cool J) will have to make a risky journey back to the scene of the crime. When there are still a few questions left unanswered, the team will have to rely on Kelly's memory to solve the case.
