Mikael will be coming to tear the whole world down when The Originals returns on The CW this month.

Fatherhood Might Be Making Klaus More Violent On 'The Originals'

According to TVLine on Tuesday, fans will soon find out what Esther (Sonja Sohn) and Dahlia think of Mikael (Sebastian Roche). It seems like Dahlia's return is essentially a done deal, though it's uncertain whether or not she will be coming to New Orleans in her original body or a new one as Esther did at the start of the season.

During the midseason finale, Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Rebekah (Claire Holt) turned their mother into a vampire and now Esther will have to decide whether she lives as one or dies.

Hayley Could Be Taking On The Witches On 'The Originals' In 2015

"I cannot say whether she does or does not [transition into a vampire]," teased series creator Julie Plec, "But I can say that we learn which choice she made in the very first episode back."

As for Klaus, he'll be coping with an emotion he's never been good at expressing as he trues to protect his daughter, Hope (Alexandria Collins).

"Klaus is someone who believes that love makes him weak, and he is terrified of it," noted Plec, "Yet he's opened his heart to this daughter that's filling his heart in a new way he never thought it could be filled."

With Dahlia's return and Mikael plotting to destroy him, Klaus will have his hands full protecting that child as the season continues.

The Originals returns on The CW for the remainder of its second season Monday, Jan. 19 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
