For country star Tim McGraw, collaborating with wife Faith Hill is always a meaningful process.

Should Tim McGraw's Wife Be Jealous Of His New Duet Partner?

Throughout 18 years of marriage, McGraw and Hill have come together a number of times to create moving duets. Their most recent, Meanwhile Back At Mama's, has scored them yet another Grammy nomination.

When it comes to deciding when and how to team up, however, McGraw insists that it's all about the music.

Tim McGraw's 2015 Tour Taking Him Away From Family?

"We make the song motivate the singing together," admitted McGraw during an interview with Rolling Stone on Tuesday. "Instead of the singing together motivating the song."

Spending time with his wife recording and performing the single has certainly been a plus, and this year especially McGraw is all about getting in time with his family.

"I have a little bit of downtime because it's my daughter's senior year," he explained. "So I wanted to be home as much as possible.

"Of course you hate for them to leave," he added in talking about his daughter heading off to college. "But, at the same time, you are excited to see what lies ahead of them, and for them to get out into the world."

McGraw and Hill continue to live in Nashville with their three daughters. McGraw will kick off his Shotgun Rider tour this summer, which still gives him plenty of time to watch his daughter finish up high school. The singer is content to stay put for now, putting fatherhood before his career.
