The DGA Awards, handed out by the Directors Guild of America, elected to nominate Foster for directing the episode Thirsty Bird of Orange Is the New Black. This episode was the season 2 premiere and centered on Piper's (Taylor Schilling) moving to a new prison temporarily.

Foster is nominated in the Outstanding Directorial Achievement in a Comedy Series category alongside Louis C.K., who directed the episode Elevator: Part 6 of FX's Louie, Gail Mancuso, who directed the episode of Las Vegas of ABC's Modern Family, Mike Judge, who directed the pilot episode of HBO's Silicon Valley and Jill Soloway, who directed the episode Best New Girl of Amazon Prime's Transparent.

As it turns out, Foster was also nominated in the Outstanding Directorial Achievement in a Drama Series category for directing Chapter 22 of Netflix's House of Cards.

Directing has certainly paid off for Foster over the past two years. She also received an Emmy nomination for directing the Lesbian Request Denied episode of Orange Is the New Black in season 1, though she wound up losing the category.

It remains to be seen if Foster will be back directing any episodes in season 3, though she is clearly doing something right with the amount of recognition she's received.

Orange Is the New Black is slated to return for season 3 in mid-2015 on Netflix, though the network has not yet scheduled a specific premiere date.
