The Jasmine Brand spoke with Quincy earlier this week, whose biological father is singer Al B. Sure.

He revealed, "This is kind of like my family. My family kind of deals with music and business and all that, so to see it like on TV and really written in a point of view that can really be controversial and all that it's good to come out and experience that because I know how my life is and everything that goes on."

Quincy added, "So it's good to see a different side of it, but still it's crazy you [know] what I mean? It's organized chaos that's kind of what it is."

Terrence Howard, who plays hip hop icon Lucious Lyon in the show confirmed that it definitely touches on the "untouchable" rulers of hip hop in a way that has never been done before.

He told Billboard magazine just before the show premiered on Jan. 7, "One of the things about Lucious is I've never seen him have a good day. Lucious has issues and we always think...that someone like Jay Z has a great life. No, we have a great deal of issues. Everyone's trying to tear you down."

He added that his hope is for viewers to see it and realize that even rich hip hop stars have issues and struggles in their personal lives.

"All that glitter ain't gold."

Empire airs Wednesdays at 9/8c on Fox.
