It looks like Jennifer Aniston did what it took to make sure she didn't have any awkward run-ins with the woman who is now married to her ex-husband. A new report indicates that the Hollywood actress did her best to totally avoid Angelina Jolie while at the Critics' Choice Awards in Los Angeles on Thursday evening.

According to Us Weekly on Friday, the two ladies stayed on opposite ends of the room the entire night.

The site reports, "During the first commercial break, Aniston chatted with Emily Blunt, who ran over to give her and Theroux a hug. Jolie, meanwhile, took photos with fans and critics and stayed resolutely on her side of the venue."

What's more, "Aniston and Theroux did a quick exit, complete with bodyguard, so the former Friends star could go to the bathroom, and her fiance Justin Theroux could grab some drinks. But while Aniston did manage to run into some of her famous friends, Jolie remained inside the ballroom."

The site also speculates that Aniston and Jolie orchestrated their separation, while many readers think it was just a coincidence that the two women didn't run into each other the entire night.

One commenter wrote, "Jennifer probably disappeared during the Maleficent bit because she knew if she was in the room the camera would have went straight for her and all eyes would have been on her reaction. Which then the headline would be Aniston puts on a 'brave smile' or 'appeared stoic' etc."

Aniston was married to Brad Pitt from 2000 until they divorced in 2005. Jolie and Pitt met on the set of Mr. & Mrs. Smith in 2004 and didn't tie the knot until late last year.
