If you are looking for Justin Bieber on Twitter, you might come across We Hate Beliebers, who's description states "proud to b--tch about the Beliebers and 'Directioners'...definition: both egotistical fanbase's that think they own the place."

You might also find across the Twitter trend #BeliebersHateDirectioners. However, the fact of the matter is that the "Boyfriend" singer and One Direction do not hate each other. Rumors surfaced of a "feud" when Bieber jokingly commented on his side-swept haircut being seen on One Direction band members, asking them to put up a fight for stealing his look. But fans from both sides quickly took to Twitter and perhaps might have made something out of nothing.

"Most Beliebers hate One Direction, & most Directioners hate Justin Bieber," JustinBieberFan tweeted.

In response to #BeliebersHateDirectioners, One Direction's Harry Styles tweeted, "Well, Niall [Horan] is a Belieber, and i'm pretty sure he doesn't hate Directioners," talking about his fellow band member.

Selena Gomez even came to her boyfriend Bieber's rescue by saying, "#BeliebersHateDirectioners? Really? No wonder why people say that we're immature. This fighting is getting OLD.#BeliebersLoveDirectioners."

It can be argued that both One Direction and Justin Bieber are fighting for the attention of fans in the similar age range, however, both parties have never made an official statement or any kind to explicitly express a rivalry between them.

On the other side of the spectrum, fans wanting peace between the two sides have spoken out on Twitter as well. A popular trend is #DirectionersLoveBliebers.

"I am a BELIEBER and DIRECTIONER, we should all get along there is no need for all this hate #BeliebersHateDirectioners needs to stop! #love," epPaulZimmer tweeted.

DBeiber wrote, "If you are a Directioner and you're reading this, not all of us hate you, i respect and love you guys :)" while BieberPanda tweeted, "I just want to apologize on the behave of the ignorant "Beliebers" who are so stupid that they trend #BeliebersHateDirectioners."

While fans trying to mediate the situation on Twitter, Bieber and One Direction will both be present at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sept. 6, where they, ironically enough, will compete. Both are nominated in the Best Pop Video catagory.
