A couple was found dead in their home after Hurricane Isaac ripped through their town in Louisiana. The bodies of the man and woman has raised the death toll to at least four on the Gulf Coast, between Louisiana and Mississippi.

The unidentified male and female were found in the kitchen in their home located in the Brathwaite area. The pair apparently became trapped in their home due to the severe floods in the area caused by Isaac.

The couple were found by local authorities after someone reported they had not left their home, Billy Nungesser, President of Louisiana's Plaquemine Parish told the Huffington Post.

Nugesser added that their bodies were sent to the local morgue and the cause of death has yet to be determined.

At least two other deaths have been reported in Louisiana and Mississippi as a result of the storm.

WLOX in Southern Mississippi reported that a Mississippi tow truck driver died Thursday when a tree fell onto his truck, and a second man died in Louisiana's Vermillion Parish, according to WWL New Orleans.

The Louisiana man, Carlos Medellin-Guillen, died after he went to help two friends move a truck from beneath a tree. He climbed the tree and then fell 18 feet to his death.

As much as 18 inches of rain fell in various ares in the Gulf Coast causing over 900,000 homes and businesses to lose power.

Damage from the hurricane, which has since weakened to become a tropical storm, could total as much as $1.5 billion, according to disaster modeling firm Eqecat.

Isaac is expected to move into Arkansas and Missouri on Friday, Aug.31 which brings relief to the Gulf Coast following days of unrelenting rains and powerful winds.
