They've been clashing pretty much since the moment Clyde (James Read) came to Salem, but the conflict between the newcomer and Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston) is far from over on Days of Our Lives.

Victor has had a stronghold on several kinds of businesses and companies in Salem for a very long time, and has no intention of giving up the control he has and the money it has made him. However, Clyde has since come to town, and has been trying to move in on Victor's territory so he can continue shipping drugs into Salem.

Their previous encounters have not emerged with Clyde as the winner however, causing the conman from Poplar Bluff to take newer, and much more extreme measures against his enemy. Using his henchmen, he had Victor's truckers viciously beaten on their way back into town to send Victor a message-that he wasn't going anywhere, and he intended to fight.

Now, Victor will thoroughly receive that message after finding out what Clyde has done to his men-but the old Greek isn't likely to give up his control so easily, as he beaten enemies before (like the DiMeras), and believes he can win again against sneaky Clyde.

Meanwhile, since returning to Salem during the holidays, John (Drake Hogestyn) has been unsure of what he wants to do professionally, especially after he was offered Rafe's (Galen Gerig) old job as a police detective. He hasn't been a cop in years and has since become a businessman, but he has been toying with the idea of the career change ever since. Now, as he always does in tough situations, he will seek out Marlena's (Deidre Hall) advice to find out what the best thing for him could be.

Days of Our Lives airs Monday-Friday at 1 p.m. on NBC.
