Keith Urban's daughters are accustomed to seeing their dad on television.

'Paddington' Star Talks Keith Urban & Her 'Exquisite' Wedding Dress

Urban stars on Fox's American Idol and the girls watch the show with their parents every week. What the kids aren't used to seeing, however, is their actress mom Nicole Kidman on the big screen.

Known primarily for dramatic roles, most of Kidman's career is far from suitable for 6-year-old Sunday Rose and four-year-old Faith Margaret. This year, however, that changed when Kidman starred as the villain in the family film Paddington.

"He wrote it for me," admitted Kidman of director Paul King and her role in the movie during an interview with The Tennessean on Jan. 16. She then laughed. "I'm not sure if that's a flattering thing or not."

King didn't have high hopes for the actress to say yes, but it turns out that Kidman was more willing to give it a go than he'd thought.

"It's smart," she explained of the film. Of course it's an added plus that her daughters "squeal with laughter" every time that CG Paddington bear comes on screen.

"You don't often see the silly side of Nicole and she's such a funny, easygoing person," noted King.

"My life is a roller coaster," insisted the actress. "My career is a roller coaster. Some people get smooth sailing. I never get that."

Kidman and Urban live in Nashville, where they intend to raise their daughters.
