After Emmy and Golden Globe losses, True Detective will have another chance to score an acting win with the 2015 SAG Awards this weekend.

Last summer, season 1 stars Matthew McConaughey (Rust Cohle) and Woody Harrelson (Marty Hart) both received nods in the same category at the Emmys. McConaughey was considered the frontrunner for the category, though neither HBO star walked away with the ward. The actors were then nominated for Best Lead Actor In A Miniseries Or Television Movie at the Golden Globes. Again the actors lost out, which brings them now to the SAG Awards.

Both actors are nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor In A Drama Series and as the HBO drama's only SAG nominations the stakes are pretty high.

How 'True Detective' Is Doing Great Things For Colin Farrell's Career

With a rotating cast, True Detective stars will get one season and one season only to make their mark. This means it's one of the last chances for McConaughey and Harrelson to walk away with a win.

This year the HBO crime drama will begin a new season starring Vince Vaughn (career criminal Frank Semyon), Colin Farrell (Detective Ray Velcoro), Rachel McAdams (Detective Ani Bezzerides), and Taylor Kitsch (Paul Woodrugh). The story will take place in California, following the murder of a city manager.

The SAG Awards will air on TNT and TBS Sunday, Jan. 25.

True Detective will return on HBO for a second season mid-2015.
