Currently underway, season 3 of Cinemax's Banshee has failed to disappoint fans, providing them with more of what they want; violence, danger and sex

'Banshee' Season 3 Trailer Shows Wounds, Fire & Hot Sex

Showrunner Greg Yaitanes took the opportunity to dish to Enstars about the unpredictability of the TV drama and the high-caliber storylines that come with that.

"It's more of creating the unexpected for the audience, especially this season. We really wanted to make sure season finale-type events would be happening all throughout the new season. Things you wouldn't expect to be happening until the very last episode of the season."

'Banshee' Actress Reevals What 'Really Drives' Her Character

Yaitanes, previously known for his directing work on Fox's House, also stressed the importance of pushing the envelope and taking risks with each episode. When it comes to Banshee's episodic formula for success, the showrunner tries to keep himself open to changing the course; assuming it is what's best for its fans.

"Our formula is that we will always be pushing the boundaries, always seeing what our show is capable of, and taking it as far as we can take it in every direction," he said.

Being that all episodes of the Cinemax program usually have at least one off-the-wall scene in them, Yaitanes admitted that its always a challenge keeping the energy levels of the cast and crew up. However, the showrunner was quick to acknowledge that the devotion of the viewers, especially those watching on a Friday night, makes it all worth it.

"There's not a day that's going to be, 'Oh, we got an easy day today.' And that really comes out of respect for the fans," the showrunner said. "We grow over 100 percent in DVR and viewing. That means half of our audience is watching it live and half are watching later. So the people that are watching live, I feel I owe them a great night in entertainment, they're giving me their Friday night."

Through the hard work of Banshee's cast and crew comes a far greater payoff. As Yaitanes puts it, adds to happiness when the final product is ready to be aired.

"There's always opportunities when you're in the thick of it to make life a little bit easier on yourself in the moment," he said. "And what I always tell people is, 'Guys, we're going to kill ourselves now and we're going to be so happy when we see how good this turns out.'"

As for this season's happenings, fans will be happy to know that actor Geno Segers will be gracing the small screen once again as Chayton. Yaitanes spoke about the character, and how viewers will be getting the opportunity to witness a different side of him.

"This is the perfect opportunity to show this character in a completely different light than anybody would ever expect. Imagine what's possible with him. We are going to see who he is and why he is the way he is," he said. "Expect to see an incredible conclusion to the Chayton storyline."

As for Banshee's upcoming Jan. 23 installment, Yaitanes summed it up in three words: "Nola vs. Burton."

The showrunner was also adamant about letting audiences know that for them to get an optimal Banshee experience, they must make it a point to not miss a single episode.

"The tease of season three is really to not miss an episode because you'll be like, 'Oh my what, what, what?' If you were to, like, about every couple weeks, think that things aren't going to happen...you are so wrong."

At this point, there is no word on whether or not there will be a fourth season of Banshee. But if there is, the ideas up Yaitanes' sleeve, as he puts it, will "probably blow everybody away."

Cinemax's Banshee airs on Fridays at 10 p.m. ET. Be sure to keep checking back with Enstars for more info on the TV show.
