Country crooner Brantley Gilbert was the first act announced to headline the annual Rock the South musical festival.
"Brantley Gilbert is one of the hottest & fastest growing country music artists, period. His Country/Southern rock sound will be a perfect anthem for a Rock the South night," event organizer Shane Quick said in a statement. "He's also one of the most requested artist from the Rock the South fans. We wanted to come out of the gate strong with a name we knew everyone would love. Stay connected to Rock the South as more announcement are coming every week!"
The 30-year-old had quite a year in 2014. He released his third studio album, Just as I Am, last May, which peaked at No. 2 on Billboard.
He also got engaged to his longtime love Amber Cochran, a schoolteacher from his hometown in Jefferson, Ga. who has been his muse for years. The couple plans to tie the knot next June.
"Amber is an amazing person and has inspired a lot of my songs from 'More Than Miles' to 'You Don't Know Her Like I Do' for the last 10 years," Gilbert told People last November. "I'm a blessed man to have her back in my life and can't wait to make her my wife."
Rock the South will take place on June 19 and June 20 at the Heritage Park in Cullman, Ala.
