"Jersey Shore" star Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, 24, is used to living in her life under a microscope. So it should be no surprise that just days after she gave birth to her first child, Lorenzo Dominic, she did an interview for People magazine's cover story.

"It's a different kind of love that I never felt before," Polizzi told People magazine.

Although Polizzi was in labor for more than 24 hours, the 4-foot-9 reality star finally gave birth to her son on Aug. 26.

Naming their newborn was a pretty simple task for Polizzi and her fiancé Jionni LaValle, 25, she revealed.

"We were going back and forth, and I just happened to think of Lorenzo," said LaValle, who added that he was inspired by a child he knew from his hometown, where he and Polizzi now live with his parents. "She loved it."

The baby's middle name, Dominic, is in memory of Polizzi's uncle who died.

"I did it for my dad," she said.

Though Polizzi is currently filming the second season of her MTV spin-off "Snooki & JWOWW," her and LaValle are making time to be with their family and their "adorable" son.

Although Polizzi will be appearing on the final season of MTV's "Jersey Shore," premiering Oct. 4, she said pregnancy and motherhood has matured her.

"When I got pregnant, everything changed," Polizzi said. "The partying is long gone. I'm a new person."

Or as she put it on an Aug. 28 tweet, "#BreastPump insteada #FistPump."

Although this is her first official interview since giving birth, Polizzi has already been gushing about her son to her fans via Twitter.

On Aug. 26, she wrote, "Being a mom is an amazing feeling!!! I love my little man to death! Jionni is such a cute dad. @JLaValle."

Then on Aug. 30 she tweeted, "Lorenzo loves waking mommy up! I never knew how excited I'd be to be woken up having to feed and change a diaper! I f**king love him."
